Developing Roller

Developing Roller is a core component of the developing system for copiers and laser printers. Relying on conductivity and electric‑field effect, it absorbs pure toner separated by the magnetic roller and coats it evenly onto the OPC drum surface, visualizing the electrostatic latent image and completing the whole developing‑imaging process.

Structure and Principle: It consists of a metal conductive core shaft and a highly‑elastic conductive rubber outer layer, rotating positioned by end brackets. Working with magnetic roller and doctor blade, it absorbs and transfers pure toner precisely by electric‑field pressure difference, and stably controls toner layer thickness. The carrier remains on the magnetic‑roller side, while only toner is uniformly transferred to the latent‑image area of OPC drum to achieve regular and even development.

Performance Impact: Conductivity uniformity, surface flatness and rubber‑layer elasticity of the developing roller directly determine print density and image sharpness. Surface aging, abrasion, carbon accumulation or abnormal conductivity will lead to faint prints, uneven images, heavy background fog, blurred texts, ghosting and toner shortage. It is widely applied in developer units of monochrome & color copiers and laser printers of various brands.
